Re: WS Norwood, 4th MS Infantry, Co K -- any info?

Yes, William S. Norwood served in Co. K, 4th MS Infantry. Rose to rank of corporal. Was captured not once, not twice, but three times during the war and spent time all three times in Yankee POW camps. I'd be very proud of this man if I was a relation/descendant! He was also detailed to make soap for his company, a work detail I've never run across in all my years of looking at service records! You can order his Compiled Military Service Records from the link at the top of this site. I do not find that he or his widow filed for a Confederate Soldier's/Widow's Pension. Hope this helps! -- Jim Huffman, Violet Guards, Co. K, 6th La. Inf. Vols.
