Re: WS Norwood, 4th MS Infantry, Co K -- any info?

Phil: The registry of MS CS burials that was maintained early in the 20th Century by the MS Dept. of Archives & History was not a mandatory list, and probably a majority of MS CS soldiers who died in that century were never listed -- never mind the fact that the overwhelming majority of MS CS soldiers had either died during the war or before the burial list was even inaugurated. A more modern and much more far-ranging (though unofficial) list is maintained by the Hon. Dan McCaskill of the MS Division, Sons of Confederate Veteans. The main page for this list is located at: http://mscgr.homestead.com/index.html. William S. Norwood is listed in this database, specifically at: http://mscgr.homestead.com/MSCGRNi.html. Thanks, again, for celebrating the life of this Southern Patriot and hero! -- Jim Huffman, Violet Guards, Co. K, 6th LA Infantry
