Rick:

I cannot confirm or deny that E.D. Sanders of the 41st MS is your GG-grandfather.

However, I can tell you that the widow E.L. Sanders filed a Confederate Widow's Pension Application in 1900 in Benton Co., MS, and stated in that application that her husband was E.D. Sanders of "Tucker's Regt." Tucker's Regiment was the 41st MS Infantry, so there is every chance that the E.D. Sanders of the 41st MS Infantry is your GG-grandfather.

Also, in 1924, a "Mrs. E.D. Sanders" filed a Confederate Widow's Pension Application in Pontotoc County, MS, in which she stated that her husband was "Eliga Sanders." She did not state which unit he served in.

You can order copies of these two pension applications from the link at the top of this page.

I only have an index that shows the information I have shared above.

I hope this helps. Thanks for honoring your CS grandfather! Please consider joining a Confederate/Southern Heritage organization such as the Sons of Confederate Veterans! -- Jim Huffman, Adj., Gainesville Vols, SCV Camp 373, Pearl River County, MS
