Thank you. I will share it with some of the Witherspoon/McCrary descendants.
Truthfully, taking the pistol and going into battle, staying behind with the wounded, taking the body home, etc.
sounds just like the people I know. The one I actually taught was known for being a natural leader.
My late mother's former boss who was called Mac McCrary in honor of his great grandfather who fought with the 43rd,
was known for taking charge and his big heart.
The family name may change but the quality of the people remains the same has been my experience.
