I am researching a soldier named Newton J. Tedder, Co. D, 17th Mississippi. He was wounded at Gettysburg and subsequently died there. I am trying to find out if there was a specific field hospital men of the 17th would have been treated in, and how to go about finding out what the date of his demise was. I checked Fold3, Ancestry.com and the Civil War Data base...but can't find the info anywhere. In your research, have you come across this information? I am also curious about any connection, battlefield-wise or hospital-wise, of the 17th with the 2nd Massachusetts. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Joanne
