Re: Two wounded of 17th Mississippi

The records show seven others of the 17th wounded and captured at Gettysburg on July 2. I've tracked two and find they were also transferred to the Provost Marshall and subsequently forwarded to Baltimore. I suspect Newton followed this path. Only a guess.

Newton Tedder, captured at Gettysburg, injuries to left knee and elbow, admitted USA hospital in and about Getysburg, transferred to Pro. Mar. n.d., died, n.d., in the hands of the enemy from wounds received at Gettysburg, Pa., July 2, 1863,

William P. Dodds transferred to Pro. Marshall Oct. 1, 63, admitted USA Gen. Hosp., West's Building, Balt., Md. Oct. 1

Jacob E. Hipps, Letterman Gen. Hosp., Gettysburg, Aug. 8, Transferred to Pro. Mar. October 1, 63, sent to Gen. Hos Oct. 1, admitted USA Gen. Hosp., West's Building, Balt., Md. Oct. 1
