Could be, ages seem to match. And we see Memphis noted in both records.

Andrew M. Byrns, age 22, 3rd Lieutenant, Capt. R. H. Humphreys' Company, Blythe's Mississippi Battalion,** joined for duty and enrolled June 11, 1861 at Memphis, Tenn. by Genl. Williams for 12 months, resignation accepted December 26, 1861

Note: No reason noted for his resignation

** This company was successively designated as Captain Humphreys' Company, Blythe's Battalion Mississippi Infantry; Company B, Blythe's Regiment Mississippi Infantry: and Company B, 44th Regiment Mississippi Infantry

A. M. Byrne, Private, Company D, Chalmers' Battalion, Mississippi Cavalry,* enlisted April 21, 1863 at Commerce, Tunica County, Miss. by C. R. Jones for the war, recorded on March 16, 1865 as having been transferred to Capt. Ranes, Company F, on special duty at Genl. Chalmers HQ from July 20, 1864 though the end of the war, surrendered at Citronelle, Ala., paroled at Gainesville, Ala. May 12, 1865, description: light complexion, dark hair, hazel eyes, 5' 10", age 24, resident of Tunica, Miss., swore to the Oath of Allegiance to the US at Memphis, Tenn. May 8, 1865
