The Walter Bain/Bayne is my ancestor who was in Shelby County, Tenn. in 1850, actually living within three houses of
his inlaws- Frederick and Sally Buck, formerly of Pitt County, N. C. I actually know quite a bit of oral history on him,
plus a 1889 Goodspeeds article about his son was enlightening.
Being sort of lost in the wind was the way his youngest son, my own great grandfather Dee Bayne, saw things to.
All of my connections were in Virginia, then on to Kentucky and then to the Shelby County Tenn. area, being down in
Mississippi for while prior to the Civil War.
I am interested in these men as they seemed to be the most logical candidates for being Walter's older children
that were from a first marriage.
