Thanks for the information.
I am interested in these men as they seemed to be the most logical candidates for being my Walter D. Bayne's older children
that were from a first marriage. I just found out that one of his older children, a son born in 1847, was born in Mississippi
so that gave me another place to ask questions.
My connections never used any spelling except Bayne unless someone else was spelling it for them. They reached the shores of the colonies sometimes in the 1600's. They were actually members of a clan from Scotland, having been evicted by the English.
