2. HEZEKIAH (KI)3 BYRD (MICHAEL KING2, JOHN1) was born 1787 in Orangeburg District, S CSC, and died 1858 in Greene County, MS. Died Jan 29, 1859. Buried in family cemetery at McLain, Greene County MS. Married MARIAH MONK, born 1793 in S C.

4. ii. EDWARD WASHINGTON BYRD, b. April 24, 1817, SC; d. June 06, 1869. Co "H", 5th Mississippi State Troops. Enrolled Dec 17, 1862, Americus MS. Paroled Vicksburg MS, July 10, 1863. Regiment discharged from service, Sept 22, 1863.

iv. MALACHI G (MALLY) BYRD, b. April 03, 1827, Greene County, Ms; d. November 05, 1889, Greene County, Ms. Co "D", 9th Mississippi Cavalry, paroled at Mobile AL, May 23, 1865. Enlisted Co "A", 17th Mississippi Cavalry Battn, Hancock County MS, May 6, 1862.

v. EZEKIEL BYRD, b. 1831. Correction = should be Hezekiah Byrd, Jr. Not found after 1850.

vi. ELIZABETH BYRD, b. Abt. 1833, Greene County, Ms; m. WILLIAM WALKER, 1860; b. 1830, Al.

vii. BARTLETT S BYRD, b. September 14, 1834, Greene County, Ms; d. 1905. Co "G", 27th Mississippi Regt. Enlisted May 13, 1862, Mobile AL. Captured and paroled in Kentucky; returned in time to be captured on Lookout Mtn TN, Nov 24, 1863 and imprisoned at Rock Island IL.

viii. MICHAEL K BYRD, b. September 14, 1834; d. 1891. Enlisted Co "F", 17th Mississippi Cavalry Battn, Greene County MS, Sept 1, 1863. Different Michael Byrd from Jasper County MS paroled with Co "G", 9th Mississippi Cavalry.

ix. CHARLES BYRD, b. Abt. 1838, Greene County, Ms; m. MARTHA BOULTON. Enlisted Co "F", 17th Mississippi Cavalry Battn, Greene County MS, Sept 1, 1863. Co "D", 9th Mississippi Cavalry, paroled at Mobile AL, May 23, 1865. Assigned to 3rd Mississippi Regt in late 1864 but never reported for duty.

x. JAMES A BYRD, b. Abt. 1840, Greene County, Ms. Enlisted Co "F", 17th Mississippi Cavalry Battn, Aug 13, 1862. Discharged for disability, Monticello MS Aug 13, 1863.

3. JOSIAH W4 BYRD, SR. (HEZEKIAH (KI)3, MICHAEL KING2, JOHN1) was born April 02, 1816 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina, and died July 28, 1902 in Neely, Ms. He married MAHALA BRELAND, daughter of HIRAM BRELAND and NOONAN. She was born January 12, 1824, and died July 05, 1901.
