Re: 36th, 37th, 38th, and 40th Miss Inf - Iuka

I am interested in the Captain R.C. Coleman CSA, 40th Miss Inf Co. H., killed 19 Sep 1862, who is possibly buried in the mass grave at Shady Grove Cemetery in Iuka. In my genealogy research, I connect (by marriage, not blood) through my ancestral aunt, to Robert Cox Coleman, born 28 Jul 1839 in Church Hill, Jefferson Co. MS who appears as a law student on the 1860 census living with parents Dr. F.B. & Octavia Cox Coleman, in Church Hill. They lived at Wyolah Plantation in Church Hill. I am trying to see if the Captain R.C. Coleman of Church Hill, is the same person as Robert Cox Coleman of Church Hill. I cannot find a burying place for Robert nor any records for him after the war, and I think these two R.C. Colemans are the same person. I'm trying to confirm this. Thanks!
