Re: 4th Inf: Asa Costner, KIA Port Gibson

Yes, and many died at Camp Douglass as well. Im not sure if you know it, but i am gathering information for a book I am finishing about the 4th and i am trying to fill in some gaps with help from you guys. A lot of soldiers just walked away from Donelson in the days immediately after 2-15-62 (the surrender). The Adair brothers (two officers) got away in a canoe and crossed the Cumberland.

I sure wish I knew more details about how this fellow got away.

Shameless plug to my booklet and kindle book about the 4th http://www.amazon.com/kindle/dp/B00CW0POYI/ref=rdr_kindle_ext_eos_detail

Your help is greatly appreciated!
