Rex - You are correct that neither of these men were in the Consolidated 9th at the surrender. See my earlier post in this thread for a summary of their CMSRs. Hazelett the Elder was never in the 10th and Hazelett the Younger was only in the 10th for a few months in '61-'62, before he joined the 28th Cav and worked on detached duty as a clerk under his father in the Commissary Dept. They both left Confederate service within a couple of weeks of each other in the summer of '63. The son on a medical discharge, and the father due to the Confederate Congress eliminating the position of Assistant Commissary of Subsistence at the regimental level. There is no indication that either man served after that date, thus neither would have been a part of the surrender in '65.
