Phil: Wade was made Lt. Colonel of the MS regiment that was sent to Pensacola Jan.-Feb. 1861, which was a sort of predecessor to the 10th. He'd been captain of the "Southrons," which later became Co. D of the 10th MS CSA that you refer to. This predecessor regiment is sometimes designated the 10th, and that is what I referred to.
