In Response To: Lt. Col. Kennedy, 16th NC Cav. ()

26 March 1864- It appears that the 16th NC Cavalry Bn was engaged with Capt Graham's 1st NC Union Volunteers at Black Jack Church, NC near Greenville with Lieut McKinzey killed along with 7 others killed, additional seven wounded and two prisoners. I found a newspaper article from the New Berne Times from 2 April 1864 with dated 29 March 1864 " Notes from Washington, NC" with the details on the raid reporting that 4 companies of Col. Kennedy's Battalion of rebel cavalry picketed the road between Black Jack and Greenville.

Contact me and I can send article.
