Thanks for your response to my post. After further research, I've found my great, great grand uncle's full name was THADDEUS HIGHTOWER DOTSON, Private Co. 'A' 62nd NC Infantry Regiment. The regiment was surrendered September 9, 1863 at Cumberland Gap, TN. Dotson was imprisoned at Camp Douglas, IL where he died of disease August 9, 1864. He is buried at Oak Wood Cemetery, Chicago, IL.
