So you can say that you were proud of your Southern heritage, but Southern heritage was about slavery, apartheid, Jim Crow, racism, racial terror, sexual violence, etc., etc. Southern history is problematic."

Although the article was on balance fairly even handed, I would like to have seen a follow up question to the professor's broad charges. Stan
