The pleasure was all mine. I believe we could have talked all day. This just reenforces my thoughts that we need a convention somewhere and get all the board old timers together.

In Mississippi I stopped at the Mississippi Department of Archives and History and visited there new facility. I had not been there in ten years. I was very impressed. Especially the gift shop and the enormous amount of new Civil War books for sale, many of them regimental histories.

The Archives library is even more impressive than what it was ten years ago. The amount of hard to get, unpublished material on the Civil War, War of 1812, etc., etc. made me dizzy. I think I'll take a week off some time in the future and spend it there. (I did spend some time in the microfilm library looking up gggg daddy John Upton's War of 1812 service records, I really increased my knowledge of him in this short trip!)

Our short visit was one of the highlights of my short visit back to the Gulf.
