Yes, in Vietnam there was racial tension too. I was in Germany at the time and we couldn't stand the blacks dapping all the time. Many a fight at the NCO club began because of dapping. I remember one black guy who got his hand spit on by teasing me about chewing tobacco. He made a target near the floor with his thumb and first finger and challenged me to hit it, I did. Had to fight my way out of that one too,,,,ROFL!!! There was a lot of drugs and racial tension in the US Army in 1970 to 73.
