Re: Stuart's Cavalry at Gettysburg
In Response To: Stuart's Cavalry at Gettysburg ()

Doyle,
I`ve just finshed off a 3-part serie on WBTS radio about Stuart, and from what I know about it Stuart came too late into the action to make any difference.

Many have forgot that ANV was not without cavalry before Stuart appeard on the scene. Over 3.000 men under Grumble Jones was with Lee before the battle began, and what Cheif of Staff, Cav Div,ANV - who was with Stuart on his raid had a huge questionmark behind was - Why wasn`t these men used by Lee ? These men followed Ewell`s advance force in Pennsylvania - and had got instructions by Stuart - "in observation of the enemy on the usual front, with full instructions as to following up the enemy in case of withdrawal, and joining our main army."
