LOL..Martin maybe you could start the SOU, slave owners for the Union ;-) just kidding. It's funny isn't it. Both our ancestors fought (well mine was a nurse) for the Union, and both had a different mindset. Your's owned slvaes and mine was a Quaker who believed them equal to the white man. I guess many fought for the union for various individual reasons and the south also for that fact. I doubt that our ancestors were constitutional scholars or for that matter most of our gray clad poster's ancestors. Some may have had a wealthy senator or lawyer type. But I kind of think most of our ancestors were just poor people trying to get by...SOU, great ring..lol...take care my friend.
