I don't believe Cole Younger was. He was the eldest child and when the Unionist Redlegs killed his stepfather another Pro-Union man and burned his mother out, he joined One of the Partisian Ranger Groups in Missouri. I believe he rode with Quantrill the whole time. [Edward Leslie "The Devil Knows how to Ride"]. Younger's mother was burned out four times. The last time she never recovered from, if memory serves me right.

Frank may have been a deserter coming home to join the Cavalry. I guess we need to research that,,, Paul Jackson what do you think?
