do you think the northerners were republicans? and the southern democrats? i was reading some of the letters of my ggg aunt, and she spoke about how political our family was. she said for days people would ride by their house on horse to vote. she said you could always tell which party they were voting for by the color of the horse they rode.
some rode black and some rode white. i always wondered which party was which,,, and i wondered what party my family was. she said they would get so radical at a rally that some of the family wouldnt even vote(hides her face in shame) i wonder if they were some of the people who went to kansas and stuffed the voting box(i wouldnt doubt it). lol my dad always joked with my mom that her family was a bunch of outlaws.

would anyone know what the horse color has to do with how people voted?
