Freemasonry is not a political organization and we admonish our brothers not to talk about politics or religion in the lodge. I have watched some sensational story telling about Masons, including a job on the History channel. Much of it is nonsense. Nothing has changed since the 18th century.
The secrets of Masonry are about membership so that we can identify each other, discourage imposters and affirm our purpose of self developement. Members can, and have been discharged for immoral behavior.
We are a fraternal organization with core values of brotherly love, relief and truth. To join, a man must believe in a supreme being. Jews and other non-Christians are not barred for their religion and that seems to be a much larger criticism than the fallacy that we discriminate against them. In other words, some Christians are suspicious. Having said that, I personally do not know any Masons who are not Christians, but I know some who are Catholics.
Everyone, or nearly everyone, who reads this post knows a Mason. Find them and you can learn a lot more factual information than by looking at the internet.
