The Avengers of Ft. Pillow, intentionally drug women to the camps of the Black soldiers to be raped. Now rape in itself is a terrible thing to happen to a women. But these women were predjudiced against blacks in the first place and then forcefully raped by them. While the white officers watched on. This had to be a very traumatic event. I never read of anything like this happening in Sherman's camps. I know the Roswell women were raped but by white soldiers, not drug off the Black camp to be further disgraced.
