Re: Christianity and white supremacy???

Day-O

You said: "Well it was an economic and political right according to the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution as intended by the founding fathers before Father Abraham got his clever meddling ambitious paws on it."

Which part of the Declaration of Independence are you referring to?

In any case, these points are irrelevant in response to my earlier post. By 1860 most Americans and Europeans questioned the morality of slavery, regardless if it was a Constitutional right. Many in the South had acknowledged it as a "necessary evil" at the beginning of the 19th century. By the 1830s, however, the South largely reversed that attitude and defended it as a "postive good."

"Oh and if the morality of slavery was such a big deal to the brand new fledgling, military dictatorship, how could they reconcile the indentured soldiers, the gangpressed? Was white servitude OK? Another whiff of the Northern double standards that was so prevalent at the time."

I'm not sure what you mean by "indentured soldiers" and "gangpressed."
