Now, Colonel, it was old Abe who mentioned Malfeasance and Incompetence, not me! LOL And he obviously changed his mind. Meade probably could not have done as well as he did but for Herman Haupt keeping his railroads going, to move supplies and wounded. Just a few things differently, and Lee might have been chasing Meade. (Have you read Newt Gingrich's book about the alternate outcome. Very interesting.) As it was, many Confederate wounded were left in the care of the Union Army. Not too long ago, in one of the CW mags, there was an article about the Medical Corps at Gettysburg, and the horrible difficulties they faced. There are also stories about the civilian population of Gettysburg tending to Lee's wounded in their homes, churches, and barns. (Now, do I have to learn the words to "The Wild Blue Yonder"? Stan
