First I like to report and let folks decide; taking the Fox News approach kinda sorta.

Second DNA is a great and wonderful tool but it's not magic there's more to it than just saying "let's do DNA and we will find out not only who he was but who his 6th grandpappy was" I personally would love to know this hero's name. Chances are he was a valiant and honorable crew member of color but who knows?

Third I personally do not think it diminishes the sentiment in the least. I predict there will be hundreds maybe thousands of folks at this memorial/burial and just knowing he was a CONFEDERATE SAILOR will be more than enough for folks to honor him.

On a personal note, I am traveling 3500 miles from South America to attend.
