They have sent this mans DNA samples to the U.S. Army Central Identification Laboratory in Hawaii.

I hope they can identify this man.

The crew of the CSS Alabama is known. http://www.css-alabama.com/crew.html

This brave sailor served on the most successful and remarkable ship in American history.

The CSS Alabama took the War of Northern Agression all over the World.

Spending 534 of 657 days of her life at sea, the Alabama cruised the eastern seaboard of the U.S., the Carribean, the Brazilian coast, the Azores, along South Africa, the Indian Ocean, South China Sea, and the Bay of Bengal, capturing 447 vessels and capturing or sinking or burning 65 Union merchant ships at cost of over $6 million to the US.

When the CSS Alabama met up with the warship USS Hatteras, in the Gulf of Mexico, the Alabama quickly sank the Hatteras and captured her crew.

During her time at sea, the Alabama took 2,000 prisoners with no loss of life. Until the engagement with the Kearsarge she lost not one man to accident or disease aboard the ship.

The only reason the USS Kearsarge prevailed in thier great battle was the CSS Alabama had been at sea for so long her fuses were wet. The 2 ships fired hundreds of rounds at each other and some direct hits by the Alabama failed to explode.
