I have a lot of people who were farmers in middle Ohio, who didn't have much schooling. Thing is they were wiser than some folks with all kinds of degrees at OSU, most of who (whom?) couldn't find their rear with their hands in the dark. I agree that geography and family determined who "Joe Lunchbox" fought for in the war. I remember reading on this board in the past where people think their ancestors fought for all these constitutional issues...maybe the leaders, but if 5% of the average joes on either side spent any time studying the Constitution, I'll eat this computer..lol...the Bible, yeah they may have know that book some.
