History Channel flub shot

Folks, I just have to share this. My son, when he makes a mistake of any sort usually says "well, I flubbed that shot" or simply refers to the situation as a "flubshot". I have no idea what a flubshot is but he says it so much I've picked up on it myself. Now I feel the good folks over at the History Channel may want to admit to a "flubshot" LOL!

My sweetie surprised me by buying me (through some kind of deal that sounds like a tupperware party) two boxed sets of films from the History Channel. One is their series of videos collectivly called "The Last Days of the Civil War". The other is titled "The War of 1812". What seems to be the "flubshot" is the fact that the War of 1812 set contains a "Great Ships" episode on civl war era ironclads. Somebody, when selecting which films to include in which sets evidently got their wars confused.

I looked over at Amazon to read the review of "The War of 1812" and discovered I wasn't the only one who noticed this little boo boo (I mean flubshot). The good news is that after seeing the mighty History Channel blow it I no longer feel as stupid as I did this morning. Who can say how smart I will feel by this time tomorrow.

"Finally (and bizarrely), the set includes an episode of "The Great Ships" entitled "The Ironclads," which the box calls "a revealing look at the battleships put to sea in the War of 1812." Actually, the War of 1812 is never so much as mentioned: this program deals with the bizarre iron-clad warships used during the American Civil War, some fifty years later! It's actually quite an interesting program, but what on earth is it doing in a collection dealing with the War of 1812? The only thing I can figure is that somebody confused "ironclad" with the 1812-era nickname given to the U.S.S. Constitution: Old Ironsides. This is a pretty embarrassing mistake, though, if you call yourself "The History Channel."
