Chief, thanks for the heads-up on this. I just asked my boy what that phrase means and he said he learned it from his P.E. coach at school who uses it whenever they are playing basketball and make a really bad shot, what we might call an "airball". Anyway, I advised him to stop using it before somebody hears him say it and takes it for what you stated it means.
