Todd family slaves

What was the status of slave ownership in the Todd Family of Kentucky?

Mary Todd Lincoln's (Abraham Lincolns wife) family was greatly divided over the war with hers brothers fighting on both sides. Her Brother-in-law Benjamin Hardin Helms was a Brig-General in the Confederate Army, and killed at the Battle of Chickamauga. He was called lincoln favorite brother-in-law and like Robert E. Lee had refused a senior officers commission, I believe colonel, from Lincoln in the Union Army.

I have heard that the Todd family were slave owners in Kentucky. And at one point she like U.S. Grant's wife owned some of these slaves. I would like to confirm this.

If she did own any of them when did she or old Abe free or sell them? Did the Todd family free their slaves before the 13th Amendment was passed?
