Presbyterian, Episcopal, and Catholic churches seem to be the main targets of the Union armies. Either it was these religions specifically or the Southern brand of these churches that were unfavorable with the Union I do not know, but the O.R. specifically names these churches for specific attention. Why? I'll bet there is some form of religious intollerance coming from somewhere, and I'll place my bet on New England.
