Thanks Carolyn and George, it looks like there were two Jackson L Garretts, one in the 11th and one in the 6th. A confusing issue indeed, thanks for both your help.

Carolyn, Forrest is a descendant of Albert Garrett I believe. Mad as a hatter, I'm sure some of the other Garretts have had to watch out for him. I think he might be related to the bunch that the Rev. Bear Joe Lunsford tried to convert....you recall how that went. ;-)

Jackson was in the 11th with his brother Henry Eli. Wish he would also have stayed around North GA.... Congrats on your marriage... I guess you still side with the gray? Never mind, I know the answer to that, lol, lol.
