IMHO I really dont think they had seperate but equal camps for the blacks, probably a

RACIST BANTER !!!

Bob, It's most evident that you DON'T understand what I was meaning on this and many other posts. I'm compiling some documentation on your latest posts on Black Confederates at UCV Reunions. You obviously understand, or maybe not, that the entire United States (including the most racist area of this country, the northern states) was segregated up until the mid 1960s. Your original post on this topic was about West virginia and it's Constitutional right to break away from Virginia. I think George Purvis cited the "law" on that issue. I personally feal that West Virginia broke from Virginia (goodbye, good luck) because they realized that Virginia was now the border state between the Union and The Confederacy and didn't want any part in it. Maybe that's why in subsequrent posts it seamed to indicate that West Virginia had declared itself independent from both sides and thus was not to be involved at all. We know this was not the case or the outcome. I know from accounts that I've read that North Carolina was DAMN GLAD that Virginia sided with the Confederacy. Even though North Carolina played an important part in the conflict and supplied a large percentage of troops and supplies as well as contributing near one quarter of the casualties in the war, they were DAMN GLAD that Virginia stepped up and put another area of land, tens of thousands of soldiers and millions of tons of supplies including ammunition and FOOD in between them and the Union, or better yet Lincoln's army. This board aggravates the hell out of me sometimes. When great deeds and acts are displayed about Southern States and Southerners in general there is alway some "documented" account of how it was misinformed or biased in some way. But when statements are made about the Northern war effort it is always supported and proved by "the most accurate and true accounts". I can't wear a rain coat all the time so my back is getting wet from time to time. You can call it what you want but it ain't rain. The conflict that this country, however divided, entered into in the 1860s is NOT over. The wounds have NOT healed. The feelings for most have NOT changed. It's time that America apologized to the Southern States for the death and deprivation that they inflicted on us in those years at war and the years of Reconstruction, and the conditions that continue today. If all is wrong with the South then why are all the license plates I see touring Southern real estate from north of the Potomac River? Why do "you people" (a term General Lee used) want to come to this barren wasteland of racism and poverty? Why do you move to the country but then bulldoze the land and put up a WalMart and a Starbucks to satisfy your city ways? I'm sure Jim will boot this post and that is fine. Maybe it will get read a few times before that happens. If anyone wants to read it I'll e-mail it to you. This country is in the toilet and there are hands on the flush lever. We better wise up soon before we ARE looking to our neighbor for a meal or a couple of bucks to help pay the mortgage. By the way yankee.......I live about 25 miles from Richmond, Virginia. The metro area of Richmond is 65%+ black. Don't talk to me about racial diversity. Maybe it's time to pick up the rifle again.
