George, the vacation was great. When I drove down, I stopped in Columbia SC for the night, then went on in to Myrtle Beach. On the way back, I drove all the way from Myrtle Beach to Hamilton Ohio. I didn't get to visit my ancestral homeland, Cherokee NC. Though I have visited those sites in Hanging Dog many times. By the way Mr. Kirkland had some....shall I say, most colorful kinfolk, in that neck of the woods...it was a wild and woolly time....I'll have to tell about the time they tore down this...uhh...den of iniquity, right after the war....after I rest up...lol. Oh by the way, folks in southern part of New Jersey were very pro-Confederate. They sold a lot of leather goods to the South. I think they also had the highest number of slaves up North, but I'm not sure offhand. Good to be back.
