I have the Athen's Post [AP] on Microfilm here in my office. These newspapers had access to the Associated Press, I believe, or some other telegraphic sources. It is quite interesting that this East Tennessee newspaper as well as others in the area maintained this connection during the war years.

This particular piece was published in the AP on April 26, 1861 sourced to the Indianopolis Sentinel, a common practice then as it is today.
