Mr. George:

One book come to mind, War Crimes Against the Southern Citizens; it gives acconts of the
War crimes committed in each state by the Yankees.

In regards to the crimes against Marylanders, I don't know of any specific readings, however, it has been documented that the following took place in Maryland after the Pratt Street Masacre:

The pro South Legislators were arrested and thrown in Ft McHenry, The Mayor and Police Commissioner of Baltimore were arrested and thrown in Ft McHenry, Francis Scott Key's grandson, (name escapes me) was arrested and thrown in Ft. McHenry ( how ironic). Martial Law was imposed in Baltimore. Union troops were stationed at Annapolis (state capital) and Frederick City (were the legislature was meeting when the assemby members were arrested). Federal troops were sent to various railrod junctions to protect themselves. Newspaper editors were arrested. Basically - if you were not for the Despot you were against and delt with accordingly. In the 1864 general election, Federal troops were encouraged to vote early and often - which they did
