The most unfortunate thing I ever heard R.E. Lee say...all he would have done, (had he NOT surrendered) was get a bunch more folk killed, and nothing would have changed!

The point to be looked at is the NAME is not the problem, it's the US school curriculum, and how the kids are doing. Since the radical 60's we have been "dumbed down" in our schooling. How many kids walk out of school knowing about credit ratings, how our own government works, how to apply for jobs...? Look at how our economy is in the dumpster because folk were lead to believe they could have Champaign on a water budget. Waving a Battle Flag in school, or having a name after a Southern General is pointless, the issue of what they are (or are not) learning is the big problem.

I have a Burleson, TX. mailing address, but my kid’s go to Mansfield ISD school district. The education THEY got is many times better than what I got in schools up in Oklahoma. I don’t care if a Battle flag never gets flown in Mansfield, if they keep up good education there. Folk (who preach States Rights) have gone out of their way to come to the Burleson ISD to try to force their way of thinking on a school district (dress code) they DON’T live in, or belong to!

We need to be more worried about what the kid’s are learning about how to survive and succeed in life after they get out of school, than what the schools name is, or what flag they can fly. How the WBTS, or Flag’s flown in the war will always be debated…being prepared for life ahead is the big issue now.
