Thanks George. I'm afraid I'll get too far into that "if you really want to get serious" part. I'm presenting the program for our Gen. Society January meeting on How to Find Your Civil War Ancestor. Some people are afraid of letting others know they are trying to find this information. It's just too PC a world out there anymore. I am hoping to convey the message that once you find your ancestor, you may want to find where his unit was and then that may bring them more inclined to learn something. I found my GGGrandfather had a son I'd never heard about just by reading his pension app. I later was able to piece the story together and it was interesting. Giving them a number of websites to start with may be the biggest help. They don't have to travel or spend money on them. If I can light the match under their powder barrel, it may go off. :)
