Re: Fairness Doctrine in the Constitution?

"...150th anniversary of John Brown's abortive attack on Harper's Ferry."

THAT stinks! I hope no gala celebrations are planned, but I'd bet there is.

"but not domination of the country by people from one section, operating the machinery of government for their own purposes."

Someone didn't plan on THAT contingency, knowing human nature, someone should have known better. But with domination of the Native Americans, it was going to happen to other groups eventually. Still, it wasn't against the law to work to change something if you could get a proper power base to work with you, and you did/do it thru LEGAL non-violent means. Both sides thru out Constitutional rights at times.

"With other, better planned abolitionist attacks pending"

What proof did they have of this? There was a lot of "witch hunting" going on in the South in 1860, just have a newspaper insinuate that someone, (or a group of someone’s) were abolitionist, was enough to have a neck-tie party! Too bad that folk over-reacted to the John Brown raid, and in too many cases acted as badly as he did.

Finally, how are you able to post pictures here, I thought we couldn't do THAT anymore?
