In November 1861 the three Texas Regiments were assigned to Wigfall's Brigade and in camp around Dumfries, Virginia, on the west bank of the Potomac.

The 4th Texas has a Henry Travis in Company H. There are two Foster's in Company H, but the soldiers and sailors system doesn't list them as officers.
