"BTW, who added the "s" to the name?"

Stan, Rev. Pierre Robert's family was originally from Wales where the name was spelled with an "S" at the end, as many Welsh names have. This line of Roberts had immigrated to France and it is there the "S" was dropped. Rev. Robert came with a group of Huguenots to South Carolina around 1675. General H.M. Robert came from the Rev.'s son Pierre Robert jr. I come from the Rev.'s son Jean Robert. Jean Robert started signing his name as "John Roberts" as it can be seen that way on the Rev.'s will (as a witness).
