No one in their right mind could conceive of such an unworkable scheme. Any one of us could raise many reasons as to why our Confederate forefathers would not have accepted such an invasion of a neutral country in order to protect the slaves that they owned. After all there was already winds blowing through the southern states that slavery was no longer a system that would be acceptable to the general population. Only a few citizens will accept that humans can be held in bondage by other humans in civilized nations.

I am aware that slavery has existed from the earliest known history of the world and it even exists today but only in a few rare instances in third world countries.

One modern day problem would not be in the news today if it were the responsibility of the Southern gentlemen to protect the U.S. border from illegal aliens.

Most of our ancestors experienced a drug problem. They drug their children to church practically every Sunday and drug them to the woodshed if they disrespected their elders. We could use a bit more of this sort of legal drug addiction today.
