Jamie, that reminds me of the descendants of Captain Needham Hughes, 33rd Al. He is buried in an old cemetery near my home in Nacogdoches, Texas. He surrendered at Appomatox and concealed the regimental flag. He took it home and kept it to himself. His family have said the still have the flag and have no intentions of giving it up to the state of Alabama to be preserved and displayed because the Captain never did. Shame on them.
