You are generally correct about the drivel on TV. I spend a lot of time on the History, Discovery, National Geographic and Traavel channels. Perhaps you might find "lacking in imagination" a better term than "mindless".

The Coen brothers said they had seen Wayne's True Grit, but did not go back to study it. Instead, they followed the book more closely. Your opinion is valid regarding their version.

The unions are driving many productions to other states and countries. Sony is even building a studio in Atlanta. I worked on a Hollywood film being made in Valdosta years ago. They deducted union dues from my paycheck, until I reminded the payroll girl that Georgia was a right to work state, and that I did not belong to the union. My dues were restored on the next check. The point is they just assume everybody is a union member. Stan
