......sure I'll add my 2 cents worth. My very last trip down there and I do mean my last was a BIG disappointment. I've been to the park several times over the years and always enjoyed my trips. On my last trip I noticed no Confederate Flags in the visitor center or any place period. What few pictures there were of the Confederate Commanders were much smaller than the ones of the Federals and there were plenty of them and big ones. I overheard one of the NPS personnel explaning to a family that the war was all about slavery and freeing the Blacks. I noticed the painting of General Longstreet was missing. I ask where it was and not one NPS employee knew anything about it. Then the iceing on the cake was most of the NPS personnel could bearly speak English. Way too much information about slavery and not enough about the history of the battle. If a person didn't know better, according to the NPS, the yanks won the battle. Needless to say, if I ever go back, I'll avoid the NPS at all hazards. There are some very good NPS personnel around, but they have to do as they are told and can't give the true facts about our history. Thats the sad part.
