Re: ? about pennies
In Response To: Re: ? about pennies ()

Back about 1998 I started my adventures on the internet using a webtv a friend gave me. I used to use the old webtv message boards and they weren't monitored. To say the least it often got so out of hand as to be nothing less than a free for all. I remember one poster from West Virginia (can't recall his user name) but he claimed to hate LIncoln so bad he would go buy a few rolls of pennies and a case of beer and amuse himself by beating them with a hammer one at a time until Lincolns face could not be seen.

Don't worry, he would often recoup some of his spent money when he (claimed) to melt them down and sell them to a scrap metal company. Not to hijack the thread but his favorite jousting partner was a guy from Boston who thought (and often proclaimed) Stonewall Jackson as the worst officer on either side and that Lee benefitted greatly when Stonewall died. I wrote this off to the fact his wife, who also posted, was all but in love with Jackson and sometimes posted about his "penetrating blue eyes and masculine look".

As Mom used to say... "Some people's children..."
