I want to secede, but this time it would be SO COMPLICATED. All the assets spread across the country with national and multi-national corporations. All the families spread out amongst red and blue states. And there are the bastions of centralist-progressive cities in these states (e.g. Austin, TX) where people would try to emulate Winston, AL in 1861.

I want my granddaughter to live free. We should not have to move away.
